Over the winter we had the chance to team up with the United Steel Workers to create a video that shone a light on a labour issue taking place on Norway House First Nation. We were handcuffed by the fact that, due to political reasons, we could not actually go to Norway House.

So, we put on our thinking caps, and got our subjects here to Winnipeg for 4 hours on a Monday to shoot interviews and as much cover as we could. Since Winnipeg isn’t located too far from some beautiful boreal settings, we shot some styled footage of Birds Hill Provincial Park to represent a northern Community and used some of the shots to break up the video.

Our job is full of challenges and best laid plans often never work, so as they say necessity is the mother of invention!
